Street Food: A Food walk from Beltola to Six Mile, Guwahati

Hey guys, Happy Valentine’s Day! I know you guys are going on dates today to fancy restaurants and spending ton of money for a single date. But you gotta do what you have to do. Valentine’s Day is celebrated only once every year and it’s bearable to spend a chunk of your money on curating a perfect date for your significant other.

However if you are low in budget and still want to have a good time with your s/o you can still go on a romantic date, that is going on a food walk or a take a tuk tuk to eat at these street food stalls which is perhaps better than going to a fancy restaurant. It’s the thought that counts a lot, if you and your s/o are huge street food foodies, try out these 5 Street Food Stalls in Beltola which goes all the way to Six Mile.

Okay. Starting from Beltola, Survey we will make 5 stops at some of my favorite street food stalls and ending the food walk in Jayanagar, Six Mile.

5 Street Food Stalls You must Eat at:

  1. Snack Rack

Samosas with Green Chutney

I live close by this bakery, and I buy Samosas every evening for my evening chai. They make the tiniest samosas, which you can stuff your mouth with 3-4 samosas at one go. I absolutely love this place and as soon as I stepped inside they already know what I’m going order. Along with samosas you get Parathas, Tea, Kachori, various laddos and also Home made Pickles.

Address: Beltola Survey, near SBI ATM

2.  J.J Food Truck

Chicken Momo with Soup

Another food truck in Survey, Beltola that serves all your fast food, Chow mein, Momos, Rolls and Chicken Items. I mostly go there to eat their delicious Steamed Chicken Momos. They are heavenly and the soup just touches my soul if I’m allowed to be dramatic.

Address: Survey Beltola, Near GNRC Medishop

3. Frut-T Fast Food

Ghuguni, Chicken Leg Piece, Chicken Pakoda and Milk Tea

Chicken Fried Rice topped with Poached Egg

Let’s take a walk, shall we? You can take a bus or the Tuk Tuk to Jayanagar Chariali to eat at this stall. I mostly walk, it takes about 15-20 minutes from my place. This stall is my favorite on this list and I visit twice a week by walking. You get all kinds of food here depending on what time you are visiting, Tea, Parathas, Mini Meals, Pakodas, Chops, Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, Rolls are the most popular here.

Address: Jayanagar Chariali

4. Chat House

Dahi Puchka

Another place where you can just walk or take a rickshaw. I used eat here a lot when I was staying in Six Mile. I love chats but I cannot finish a plate by myself, I need company for that. They serve various Chats, Puchkas and South Indian dishes too. My favorite are Puchkas and the Dahi Puckhas, it is very delicious. Do try them out when you visit.

Address: Nayantara Supermarket

Sitting Facility: Yes

5. Frozen Punch

Ferrero Rocher and Kitkat Ice cream

Banana-Nutella Crepe

Ending our food walk with some well deserved Ice cream and Desserts. This place is not a street food stall but I added it as it falls perfectly in between the locations where we made the stops. Frozen Punch is almost like a street food because the prices are so cheap here and you can try out varieties of Ice cream and desserts here without burning a hole in your pocket. It’s the perfect place to end your date with some sweet tooth.

Address: Jayanagar Road, Near NRL Petrol Pump
